About the Role

Marriott International is seeking a First Commis Pastry to join their team in Al Khobar. This full-time position involves preparing a variety of baked goods and pastries, ensuring adherence to quality and safety standards. The role requires 2-5 years of relevant experience.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare breads and pastries, including doughs and fillings, proofing, baking, and decorating.
Review production sheets to understand daily baked goods requirements.
Cook and prepare food according to established recipes, quality, and presentation standards.
Maintain kitchen logs for food safety program compliance and report excess food items to the Chef.
Safely and appropriately use baking and measuring tools, equipment, and appliances.
Ensure compliance with food safety handling policies and procedures, including personal hygiene.
Check and ensure correct temperatures of kitchen appliances and food, reporting any issues to management.
Monitor the quality of food prepared and portions served throughout the shift.

Team Leadership and Support

Assist management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, motivating, and coaching employees.
Serve as a role model and mentor within the department.

Operational Compliance and Standards

Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including safety and security protocols.
Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to management and complete required safety training and certifications.
Maintain a clean and professional uniform and personal appearance.
Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information and protect company assets.
Communicate professionally and clearly with others, including answering telephones appropriately.
Develop and maintain positive working relationships and support team goals, handling sensitive issues with tact and respect.
Comply with all quality expectations and standards.

Physical Requirements

Ability to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance.
Navigate sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces.
Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
Stand, sit, or walk for extended periods.
