About the Role

Al-Dawaa Pharmacies is seeking a Transportation Manager to join their team in Al Khobar. This full-time role focuses on efficiently managing transportation operations to ensure the timely delivery of goods and services. The manager will optimize routes and resources to reduce costs while maintaining service quality, ensure compliance with regulations and safety standards, and support overall logistics and supply chain objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Formulate and implement transportation strategies to optimize operational efficiency and minimize costs.
Collaborate with internal teams to schedule transportation activities that align with customer requirements.
Monitor transportation operations to ensure adherence to safety standards and regulatory requirements.
Oversee driver performance, including training, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
Proactively identify and address transportation challenges to ensure seamless operations.
Evaluate transportation data to identify opportunities for improvement and cost reduction.
Foster relationships with customers to guarantee consistent and reliable transportation services.
Prepare and present comprehensive reports on transportation metrics, budget, and performance.
Manage command center operations, including enhancing existing tracking systems.
Supervise the in-house fleet maintenance workshop, ensuring effective team collaboration.
Advance operations associated with the current Transportation Management System (TMS) to improve efficiency.
Ensure achievement of the transportation sales plan, aligning it with organizational goals.
Implement and utilize real-time tracking systems for shipments.
Analyze and manage lead times for shipments, ensuring timelines are met and communicated.
Optimize transportation routes to improve delivery times and reduce fuel consumption.
Regularly evaluate performance based on timeliness, reliability, and service quality.
Develop and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for all phases of the shipping process.
Develop training programs for staff to ensure ongoing compliance with transportation regulations.
Coordinate with warehousing and logistics teams to ensure outbound shipments are prepared and dispatched on schedule.
Develop contingency plans for potential delays, including alternative routing and backup carriers.
Monitor shipment performance metrics such as on-time delivery rates and order accuracy.
Establish clear communication channels with customers regarding shipment status and concerns.
Establish systems for receiving and addressing customer feedback to improve satisfaction.
Leverage TMS and other software tools for enhanced scheduling, visibility, and predictive analytics.
Stay abreast of new technologies and trends in transportation management systems and logistics.
Work closely with suppliers, distributors, and carriers to synchronize operations.
Utilize historical data and analytics to forecast demand and optimize shipping schedules.
Conduct daily or weekly meetings with the logistics team to review performance and make adjustments.
Use dashboards and visual management tools to provide transparency into shipping processes.
Negotiate contracts and manage relationships with healthcare services providers, third-party logistics providers, and carriers.
Develop and manage the transportation budget, controlling costs while optimizing service levels.
Identify potential risks in transportation operations and develop mitigation strategies.
Develop and implement environmentally sustainable transportation practices.
Establish and refine processes to enhance productivity, efficiency, and service quality.
Set and monitor Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) for transportation operations and implement best practices.

This is a full-time position located in Al Khobar. The role requires active management of daily transportation operations and strategic planning within the company's logistics framework.
