Penspen is a global energy services company with over 70 years of experience, providing asset integrity, engineering, and consultancy services to the oil, gas, hydrogen, and energy infrastructure sectors. The company helps clients design, maintain, and operate safe, reliable, and efficient assets worldwide. Penspen is seeking a Senior Instrumentation & Control Engineer to join their team in Al Khobar, Eastern region, Saudi Arabia. This is a full-time position.

Role Overview

The Senior Instrumentation & Control Engineer will be responsible for overseeing and validating instrumentation and control engineering deliverables for major oil and gas/petrochemical projects. This role involves ensuring compliance with project requirements and international standards, participating in design reviews, and supporting commissioning activities.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee instrumentation and control engineering deliverables developed by EPC contractors, ensuring compliance with project requirements and international standards (ISA, IEC).
Review instrument datasheets, I/O lists, loop diagrams, and control logic narratives.
Validate integration between control systems (DCS, ESD, F&G) and field instruments.
Evaluate vendor submittals, Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) procedures, and technical deviations.
Participate in design reviews and ensure the operability and maintainability of control systems.
Support field verification, loop checks, and commissioning activities.
Provide assurance of compliance with project HSE and control system standards.

Qualifications and Experience

A minimum of twelve (12) years of experience in engineering.
At least six (6) years of this experience must be specifically within the field of Instrumentation & Control Engineering for major Oil and Gas/Petrochemical projects.
Demonstrated experience with Distributed Control Systems (DCS) is required.
