About the Role

Air Arabia is seeking a First Officer A320 to join their team in Dammam. This full-time position involves conducting assigned flights in accordance with the Airline Operational Manual and relevant civil aviation authority regulations. The First Officer is responsible for ensuring the ultimate safety, security, and efficiency of all operated flights, providing support and guidance to the flight and cabin crew, and effectively managing emergencies and ad-hoc scenarios.

Key Responsibilities

1. Operate assigned aircraft according to schedules and approved flight plans, prioritizing safety, efficiency, and passenger comfort.
2. Ensure all flights adhere to the Airline’s Operations Manual and regulations, continuously implementing and monitoring procedures for safe and smooth aircraft operation.
3. Verify timely attendance, proper grooming, fitness, and legal compliance for self and flight crew before assigned flights. Conduct pre-flight briefings and ensure ongoing briefings are performed as per adopted procedures.
4. Coordinate with co-pilots and the Dispatch Team before each flight to ensure flight/cabin crew are prepared with necessary information, including aircraft technical status, route preferences, weather, fuel, weight, and role distribution.
5. Ensure efficient fuel usage during flights, within the safety constraints detailed in the Airline’s Operations Manual.
6. Oversee required safety, security, fuel, and transit checks by assigned flight/cabin crew members before, during, and after each flight. Direct crew actions in case of safety or security irregularities and escalate as needed.
7. Collaborate with Maintenance Engineers to confirm aircraft technical status and suitability for flight. Engage MCC and MROs for concerns, identify defects, and implement immediate rectifications where applicable.
8. Ensure all necessary documents and technical logs are accurately completed and loaded as per Airline and civil aviation authority regulations, including the technical logbook, journey book, and reports.
9. Ensure the Airline Operations Manual is distributed, accounted for, maintained, kept up-to-date, understood, and complied with by the Flight Crew.
10. Stay informed on legal requirements from regulatory bodies such as the civil aviation authority and Airbus Company, relevant to flights and flight crew.
11. Undertake additional ground-based tasks, such as Safety Officer or Security Officer, as directed by the line manager and in accordance with Part A of the Airline’s Operations Manual.

Required Experience and Qualifications

• A minimum of 4000 hours of flying experience, with a preference for Airbus 320 aircraft.
• Experience with a low-cost airline is highly desirable.
• Acceptable industry knowledge of aircraft systems and operating procedures.
• Demonstrated knowledge and exposure to handle delegated roles related to security or safety, as required by the Airline and civil aviation authority regulations.
• Exposure to QA/Safety/Security/Audit procedures and practices relevant to Flight Operations.
• Capability to implement policies, procedures, and manuals according to approved standards and regulations.
• Ability to perform effectively in a changing environment with heavy workload schedules and ad-hoc scenarios.
• Composed, self-confident, and focused, with the ability to handle emergencies and threats efficiently.
• Proven skills in data analysis, identifying pitfalls, and recommending cost-effective solutions.
