The Role: Strategic Customer Director

DHL Global Forwarding is seeking a Strategic Customer Director to join its team in Dammam, Eastern Region, Saudi Arabia. This is a full-time position responsible for defining and executing sales strategies for a specific sector, driving market acquisition and retention, and ensuring business growth and profitability.

Key Responsibilities

• Define the sales strategy for a designated sector in alignment with business objectives, financial targets, and Group policies.
• Cascade and monitor the achievement of sales objectives across the sector.
• Lead and oversee strategic activities and initiatives within the sector, managing business risk potential.
• Drive market acquisition and retention strategies to maximize sales growth and optimize profits.
• Approve pricing, product mix, and brand portfolio policies for the sector.
• Support customer strategies, contract negotiations, and supply chain management.
• Identify improvement areas based on pipeline reporting in collaboration with sales effectiveness teams.
• Validate key technologies and industry developments, identifying change needs within the sector’s sales function.
• Master sales performance and refine sector sales strategies as required.
• Support key sector customers and drive collaboration and cross-selling activities.
• Establish systems for monitoring competitive activity and disseminating information and best practices.
• Formulate and implement mechanisms for sales performance management reporting.
• Direct and approve sales strategy and development projects for the sector.
• Introduce and embed sales practices at the sector level.
• Analyze complex issues and conceptualize improvements in sales methods and techniques.
• Negotiate and authorize critical agreements/contracts, modifying terms and conditions as needed.
• Lead, direct, coach, and develop the performance of the sector’s sales team.
• Develop strong, trusting relationships with senior business leaders across DHL and partner organizations.
• Influence stakeholders across DHL and externally as a recognized thought leader.
• Champion cooperation and partnership to provide integrated solutions.
• Lead multiple teams of executives, directors/senior managers, and managers.
• Ensure appropriate talent selection, organization, and leadership for major areas of the organization.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
