AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Senior Civil Engineer for a full-time position based in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. This role is dedicated to delivering engineering services for Power Systems, Transmission, and Distribution projects.

Role Overview

The Senior Civil Engineer will work collaboratively within the Civil/Structural team. This position involves preparing deliverables and providing specialized engineering services, primarily focused on high voltage (HV) substations and associated infrastructure within a consulting environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop technical specifications for procurement.
• Execute conceptual and detailed design of HV substations, including single line diagrams, layouts, and Bills of Material (BOM).
• Design interfaces with protection and control systems, civil works, and structural components.
• Prepare bid documents and conduct bid evaluations.
• Perform design reviews of detailed designs provided by Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) and third-party designers.
• Ensure effective interdisciplinary coordination.
• Conduct audits and technical assessments of HV and MV substations.
• Supervise construction activities, including the development of installation procedures and method statements.
• Oversee commissioning processes.
• Witness factory testing of equipment.
• Undertake feasibility and techno-economic studies for substations and distribution systems.
• Perform design studies and calculations, such as load flow, short-circuit analysis, grounding, lightning protection, lighting design, and busbar design.

Qualifications and Experience

Candidates for this role must possess a minimum of 7 years of experience as a Civil/Structural Engineer. A strong background with a specific focus on Power Systems, Transmission, and Distribution projects is required.
