About the Role

Ecolab is seeking a Design & Proposal Engineer to join its team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position is central to developing comprehensive technical and commercial proposals for advanced water treatment systems.

Role Purpose

The Design & Proposal Engineer plays a critical role in the project acquisition process by translating client requirements into viable and competitive solutions. This involves leveraging technical design expertise and commercial acumen to ensure that all proposals meet stringent performance standards and cost objectives.

Proposal Development Responsibilities

• Prepare comprehensive technical and commercial proposals for various water treatment systems, including ETP, STP, RO, MBBR, UF, ZLD, and UPW.
• Review tender documents, specifications, and client requirements to accurately determine the project scope.
• Develop process flow diagrams, perform equipment sizing calculations, and create preliminary layouts.
• Provide essential technical clarifications during the bidding and negotiation stages of projects.
• Support sales teams by delivering technical presentations and explaining proposed solutions in detail.

Costing and Estimation

• Prepare detailed cost estimates, encompassing equipment, materials, manpower, and subcontracting services.
• Optimize proposed solutions to achieve an effective balance between system performance, cost-effectiveness, and market competitiveness.
• Liaise with various vendors and suppliers to obtain necessary technical and commercial quotations.
• Prepare Bid Evaluation Proposals (BEP) and post-order documents, facilitate discussions with clients and consultants, and secure engineering approval.

Experience and Project Scope

Candidates for this role should possess 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in design and proposal engineering, specifically within the water treatment industry. This position offers significant exposure to a diverse range of international projects across various geographies, contributing to global initiatives.
