Role Overview: Manager, Risk & Crisis Communications

Red Sea Global is seeking a Manager, Risk & Crisis Communications to join its team in Riyadh. This full-time role is central to strengthening RSG’s capacity to anticipate, prepare for, and respond to potential risks and crises across its destinations. The Manager will lead communications planning, coordinate cross-functional efforts, and manage high-stakes communication projects to protect and enhance RSG’s reputation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead ongoing risk assessments for projects, considering geopolitical, economic, environmental, reputational, and operational factors.
  • Identify and prioritize key risks, monitoring emerging issues and external developments through various tools and feedback channels.
  • Develop and oversee crisis communications strategies, playbooks, and escalation processes, ensuring alignment with brand positioning and RSG values.
  • Organize workshops, simulations, and media training, including specialized crisis media training for executives and spokespeople.
  • Prepare crisis communication materials such as holding statements, press releases, FAQs, and social media content.
  • Manage the end-to-end delivery of risk and crisis communication projects, coordinating with Risk, Legal, Operations, and Corporate Affairs teams.
  • Partner with internal communications to ensure clear, consistent messaging during crises, drafting internal updates and leadership briefings.
  • Identify and map priority stakeholders (*, PIF, Royal Court, government entities, investors, partners, local communities) and develop tailored engagement strategies.
  • Lead post-crisis reviews to capture lessons learned, producing debrief reports and strategic recommendations for executive leadership.

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in communications and risk management, demonstrating the ability to operate effectively in a dynamic environment.

  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in risk and crisis communications or a related field.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Linguistics, Translation, Journalism, or a relevant field.

Organizational Alignment and Standards

This role requires adherence to all relevant functional policies, processes, standard operating procedures, and instructions to ensure consistent work delivery. The Manager will assist in preparing accurate and timely functional MIS statements and reports. Furthermore, the position involves applying safety, quality, and environmental management policies and contributing to the continuous improvement of company and department systems, processes, and practices.
