Project Overview: Expo 2030 Riyadh

Expo 2030 Riyadh is a global initiative focused on collaboration, sustainable development, innovation, and transformative thinking under the theme “Foresight for Tomorrow.” Scheduled from October 2030 to March 2031, the event anticipates over 40 million visits. Bechtel, in collaboration with Expo 2030 Riyadh Company (ERC), will manage the infrastructure program for the 6 km2 Masterplan. This scope includes early works, utilities, and public spaces, with a planned transition into a mixed-use legacy development post-event.

The Role: Senior Interface Manager

As a Senior Interface Manager based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, you will lead the Interface Management function across engineering, operational, and construction workstreams for the Expo 2030 Riyadh project. This full-time role involves managing a team of Interface Managers and establishing comprehensive interface management processes, governance, reporting, and coordination mechanisms throughout the project lifecycle. You will ensure timely identification, management, and resolution of all interfaces between consultants, contractors, operators, authorities, and stakeholders, supporting the transition from engineering and design through to operational readiness.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the Interface Management function and manage a team of Interface Managers.
• Develop and implement interface management strategies, procedures, standards, and governance frameworks.
• Establish and maintain program-wide interface management processes and reporting systems.
• Identify, manage, and resolve complex multidisciplinary interfaces across design, procurement, construction, operations, and stakeholder workstreams.
• Coordinate interfaces between consultants, contractors, operators, authorities, utility providers, technology suppliers, and client teams.
• Lead interface coordination workshops, technical coordination meetings, and interface review sessions.
• Oversee the development, maintenance, and closure of Interface Registers, Interface Control Documents, Responsibility Matrices, and related interface management tools.
• Ensure interface requirements are incorporated into design development, tender documentation, construction planning, testing, commissioning, and operational readiness activities.
• Monitor interface risks, constraints, assumptions, dependencies, and unresolved issues affecting project delivery.
• Manage interface-related escalations and coordinate resolution with senior management and stakeholders.
• Support the transition from engineering and design into construction and operational delivery.
• Act as the primary point of contact for interface management matters with the Client, project leadership, operators, and stakeholders.
• Provide regular management reporting on interface performance, critical issues, and mitigation actions.
• Support project-wide risk management, change management, and program coordination activities.
• Present interface strategies, risks, and recommendations to senior management and support client decision-making processes.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's or Master's degree (or international equivalent) in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Systems Engineering, or a related discipline.
• 15+ years of major project delivery experience.
• 10+ years of experience in interface management, systems integration, construction coordination, or program management.

Required Knowledge and Skills

• Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and managing complex stakeholder environments.
• Extensive experience on transportation, infrastructure, civil works, or megaproject programs.
• Strong understanding of project delivery from design through construction, testing, commissioning, and operations.
• Strong stakeholder, authority, and client management skills.
