About Aljomaih Energy & Water and the Role

Aljomaih Energy & Water is seeking a Field Operator to join their team in Ash Shimasiyah, Al Qassim Province, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position is central to the safe and efficient operation of power plant equipment. The Field Operator will be responsible for monitoring systems, ensuring compliance with safety protocols, and performing essential routine maintenance tasks within the facility.

Key Operational Responsibilities

• Operate and monitor gas turbines, steam turbines, heat recovery steam generators (HRSG), and auxiliary systems according to established procedures and safety protocols.
• Perform regular inspections of equipment to ensure operational integrity and optimal performance.
• Monitor operational parameters using local instruments, control panels, and data acquisition systems, ensuring equipment operates within specified limits.
• Assist in the start-up and shutdown of gas turbines, HRSGs, STs, and other plant systems, following established operational protocols.
• Execute emergency procedures as necessary in response to alarms or operational disturbances.
• Perform routine maintenance tasks as directed, including cleaning and lubrication of equipment, conducting visual inspections, checking fluid levels, and performing minor adjustments.
• Maintain accurate records of operational activities, equipment status, and incidents in log sheets, logbooks, or computerized systems.

Safety, Reporting, and Collaboration

• Follow all health and safety regulations, adhere to company policies, and promote a culture of safety among fellow operators.
• Participate in safety drills and training sessions to maintain a high level of awareness regarding safety practices.
• Support local isolations and ensure compliance with Permit to Work procedures.
• Report safety incidents promptly.
• Work as an Emergency Response team member.
• Report any anomalies or deviations to the Control Room Operator (CRO) or Shift Supervisor in a timely manner.
• Collaborate closely with the control room team, communicating real-time operational status and receiving instructions as required.
• Actively participate in defect identification and recording, and ensure all relevant information about operational conditions is conveyed during shift handovers.

Required Qualifications and Technical Knowledge

• Education: A high school diploma or equivalent is required. A technical diploma or degree in mechanical, electrical, or industrial engineering is preferred.
• Technical Knowledge: Demonstrated understanding of combined cycle power generation, turbine operation, and related systems and technologies.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

This role requires the ability to work in a challenging industrial environment, which includes potential exposure to high temperatures, noise, and rotating machinery. Candidates must be willing to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidays, as operational requirements dictate.

Continuous Improvement and Professional Development

The Field Operator will provide input for operational reports and participate in the analysis of operational data to identify trends or issues. This includes identifying and recommending opportunities for improving operational efficiency and reliability. Engagement in training and development programs to enhance technical skills related to Siemens gas turbines and power plant operations is also expected.
