Electrical Technician

About the Role

Acwa is seeking an Electrical Technician to join their team in Al Qurayyat. This full-time role involves carrying out essential maintenance, installation, overhauling, and modification activities on the plant's electrical machinery and equipment. The position requires 2-5 years of experience in a relevant field.

Role Purpose

The primary purpose of this role is to ensure the effective functionality and reliability of electrical systems by performing all tasks in accordance with standard maintenance procedures, HSE guidelines, and quality standards. The Electrical Technician will work closely with the Electrical Supervisor, Engineers, and other Supervisors within the Maintenance section, as well as the Operations Team.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute daily and routine preventative electrical maintenance work according to established schedules and procedures to ensure continuous operations.
• Monitor the physical condition of all assigned plant equipment and report non-conformances to the Electrical Supervisor.
• Respond to electrical failures, implement corrective actions, and troubleshoot issues using diagnostic tools to minimize downtime.
• Diagnose causes of electrical malfunction in operational equipment such as transformers, motors, relays, switches, and control devices, and collaborate with the Electrical Supervisor on corrective measures.
• Interpret technical manuals and wiring diagrams to perform maintenance and troubleshooting tasks.
• Align, adjust, and calibrate equipment to specifications, maintaining accurate records of repairs, calibrations, and tests.
• Monitor stock levels of necessary spare parts to support effective inventory control.
• Update the maintenance logbook with details of work performed, including defaults, problems, findings, and equipment conditions.

Compliance and Improvement

• Contribute to the identification and implementation of change initiatives and projects in line with organizational standards.
• Adhere to all relevant organizational and departmental policies, processes, standard maintenance procedures, and instructions.
• Comply with all health, safety, security, and environmental procedures and controls to ensure employee safety and environmental compliance.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 2 to 5 years of experience in electrical maintenance or a related field.
• Demonstrated ability to read and understand technical manuals and wiring diagrams.
• Proficiency in troubleshooting electrical faults and implementing corrective actions.

Additional Duties

The Electrical Technician may be required to perform any other duties as assigned by the line manager.
