The Role of Commis Chef

As a Commis Chef at Raffles The Red Sea, you will be an integral part of the kitchen team, supporting the delivery of exceptional 5-star culinary experiences. This full-time position involves assisting with mise en place, food preparation, and service while consistently upholding the highest standards of quality, hygiene, and consistency. The role is based in Umluj, Tabuk, Saudi Arabia.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain daily mise en place and prepare ingredients according to established recipes and standards.
• Ensure consistency, quality, and presentation across all prepared dishes.
• Adhere to recipes, portion control guidelines, and stock management procedures.
• Assist during service periods and adjust preparation based on guest preferences as required.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary kitchen environment at all times.
• Inspect and clean food preparation areas to ensure safe food-handling practices are followed.
• Stay informed about new products, recipes, and preparation techniques.
• Develop a comprehensive understanding of all menu items, daily highlights, and promotions.
• Support the kitchen team during busy operations to contribute to smooth service.
• Comply with all health, safety, and hygiene standards in line with hotel policies.
• Attend kitchen briefings and report any operational issues to your supervisor.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 0-1 years of experience in a culinary role.
• Regional experience is required.
• Experience in a pre-opening hotel environment is considered an advantage.
• Demonstrated impeccable grooming and personal presentation aligned with luxury hospitality standards.
