Red Sea Global is seeking a Senior Specialist Health and Safety to join Botanica, a subsidiary dedicated to providing sustainable greenery across Red Sea Global's destinations. Botanica focuses on integrating new species with local flora and operates with a planet-first approach to sustainability. Since 2020, Botanica has cultivated over 5 million plants, with a goal of 30 million by 2030, shaping the natural landscapes of The Red Sea & Amaala. This full-time position is based in Tabuk, covering Umluj and Tabuk.

Role Purpose

The Senior Specialist Health and Safety ensures compliance with occupational health, safety, and environmental policies and guidelines. The primary role involves advising on measures to minimize hazards and maintain a safe working environment, with a focus on identifying violations and implementing preventive measures. This position requires a dedicated individual who adheres strictly to Health, Safety, and Environmental laws and regulations, demonstrating attentiveness and proactive thinking, especially during emergencies.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive the H&S regulatory compliance system to control adherence to applicable legislation.
• Coordinate H&S hazard identification for all activities within the region, support risk assessment, identify relevant control measures, and assist in their execution.
• Support the implementation of applicable Red Sea Global H&S Standards and Landscape Nursery H&S Programs.
• Drive incident reporting, investigation, improvement, and H&S performance.
• Provide guidance in Health & Safety Management based on ISO 45001 Standard and support continuous improvement.
• Contribute to regional and global standard development and improvement.
• Establish a workplace that meets legal safety standards and cultivates a culture prioritizing health, safety, and environment.
• Advise and assist in the implementation and monitoring of the H&S strategy and management within the subsidiary.
• Compile safety programs and maintain compliance with all safety regulations, standardizing H&S practices.
• Conduct workplace inspections, risk assessments, and audits to identify potential hazards and recommend control measures.
• Provide close site supervision, conduct inspections, and safety audits to evaluate program effectiveness and ensure compliance.
• Support the development and review of job safety analyses or risk assessments.
• Initiate, organize, and perform H&S training for employees, contractors, and visitors.
• Participate in safety committees and lead cross-functional teams to address HSE issues.
• Conduct regular staff meetings and promote a safety culture.
• Provide technical guidance and support to Red Sea Global employees or external stakeholders on HSE-related matters.
• Correct unsafe acts or conditions through the regular line of authority.
• Develop and implement emergency response plans and coordinate emergency drills.
• Stop any unsafe acts or processes deemed dangerous or unhealthy.
• Record and investigate incidents to determine causes.
• Prepare reports on occurrences, maintain relevant registers, and provide statistical information.
• Assist clients in maintaining comprehensive records and documentation related to HSE programs.
• Stay informed of changes in HSE regulations, industry trends, and best practices, implementing necessary updates proactively.
• Promote a positive safety culture through employee engagement and continuous improvement in HSE performance.

Qualifications and Requirements

• 5-10 years of experience in health and safety.
• Substantial understanding and knowledge of ISO and other relevant regulations.
• In-depth knowledge of legislation (*, OSHA/EMS, Saudi Arabia’s HSE, COSHH, Confined Space, Lifting Operations, Excavations) and HSE procedures.
• Relevant health and safety related certifications.
• Demonstrated health and safety experience in Gulf countries and local legislation.
• Strong problem-solving, organizational, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
• Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to influence change.
• Ability and desire to work in a dynamic and agile environment.
• An interest in environmental impact and sustainability.
