The Role: General Cashier

Grand Hyatt The Red Sea is seeking a General Cashier to join its Accounting Department in Tabuk, Saudi Arabia. This is a full-time position suitable for candidates with 0-1 years of experience. The General Cashier is responsible for ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of all cash activities within the department.

Key Responsibilities

• Verify all daily noted payments.
• Deposit payments and ensure an adequate supply of house funds and small change for all Office Clerks-Cashiers.
• Collect, with an assigned witness, all Front Office remittance envelopes from the drop-safe and verify them against the Front Office daily witness sheet.
• Count, together with the witness, cash, checks, and credit card vouchers, verifying them against the Front Office computerized remittance report details.
• Provide the Front Office with required change and plan for extra change during busy periods such as weekends or holidays.
• Reimburse the Front Office for disbursements made (due backs).
• Secure approval from the Director of Finance to update foreign exchange rates at the Front Office according to daily bank information.
• Disburse petty cash requests and IOUs that have been approved by the Director of Finance.
• Monitor and follow up on all IOU requests, ensuring they are cleared within the stipulated date.
• Ensure that the combination to the General Cashier’s safe is known only to the General Cashier.
• Ensure that encashment of employee’s personal checks and cash advances are made only with the approval of both the General Manager and Director of Finance.
• Add and balance the house bank daily.
• Maintain custody and support of unclaimed wages.
• Assist, when required, in carrying out surprise cash counts.
