About the Role

Egis is seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Lead to join its engineering team in Jeddah, Makkah, Saudi Arabia. This full-time leadership position involves overseeing mechanical design aspects for airport infrastructure projects, ensuring adherence to international standards and the Saudi Building Code. The role requires leading a team of mechanical engineers and designers, focusing on innovation and excellence in MEP system design, and managing complex coordination across various disciplines.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and mentor a team of mechanical engineers and design professionals on airport and aviation facility projects.
Develop comprehensive mechanical design solutions for HVAC, plumbing, fire protection, and related systems within airport environments.
Manage the mechanical design phase from concept development through construction documentation.
Coordinate with architects, electrical engineers, and other disciplines to ensure seamless system integration and clash-free designs.
Utilize BIM and advanced design software to create detailed mechanical models and construction documents.
Ensure all designs comply with the Saudi Building Code, international standards, and airport-specific requirements.
Conduct design reviews and quality assurance checks to maintain high standards of accuracy and completeness.
Prepare technical specifications, calculations, and design reports for airport projects.
Collaborate with clients, consultants, and contractors to address design challenges and implement solutions.
Monitor project timelines and budgets while maintaining design excellence.
Stay current with industry best practices and emerging technologies in MEP design.

Required Qualifications and Experience

A minimum of 10 years of experience in mechanical design, with a focus on airport infrastructure projects.
Demonstrated experience in leading mechanical engineering teams.
Proficiency in developing HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection system designs.
Strong understanding of international standards and the Saudi Building Code.
Experience with BIM and advanced design software.

Work Environment

This position is based in Jeddah, Makkah, Saudi Arabia, and operates on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will work within a dynamic engineering team, collaborating across multiple disciplines on significant airport infrastructure projects.
