About the Retail Sales Representative Role

Gandour is seeking a Retail Sales Representative (RVS - VAN Sales Rep) to join our team in Jeddah. This employee role focuses on driving sales and ensuring product availability within the retail sector.

Key Responsibilities

The Retail Sales Representative will be responsible for achieving specific sales, coverage, distribution, and visibility targets for assigned products and brands, aligning with approved sales forecasts. Daily and weekly sales activities must be reported to the Sales Supervisor, and sales files and reports need to be maintained accurately. This role involves assisting with promotional and marketing initiatives, collecting receivables from assigned accounts in a timely manner, and monitoring competitor pricing and promotional campaigns, reporting findings to sales and marketing departments. The representative will also handle customer issues, resolving problems where possible or escalating them to the appropriate manager. Loading and unloading vans to ensure the correct product mix and prevent out-of-stock situations during the journey plan are essential duties. Implementing sales fundamentals to ensure core distribution, contracted visibility, shelving shares, and suggested retail pricing is crucial for achieving volume targets. Building strong customer penetration is key to establishing and maintaining the company’s position as a preferred supplier. The role includes managing allocated cash allowances, budgets, and offers, and suggesting ideas to positively impact the business. Active participation in meetings by sharing market news and reporting on necessary market studies (distribution, competition, etc.) are also required to ensure effective planning and forecasting.

Sales Execution and Reporting

A significant aspect of this role involves the meticulous execution of sales strategies and thorough reporting. This includes ensuring the availability of products, maintaining contracted visibility, securing appropriate shelving space, and implementing suggested retail pricing to meet volume objectives. The representative is expected to maintain all daily, weekly, and monthly reports, ensuring their timely submission to management.

Customer Relationship Management

Building and maintaining strong relationships with customers is a core function. This involves not only achieving sales targets but also effectively managing customer issues and resolving problems to ensure satisfaction. The representative acts as a key point of contact, contributing to the company’s reputation as a reliable supplier.

Qualifications and Skills

Candidates should possess a post-secondary diploma (2 years) in business, marketing, or a relevant field. Basic knowledge of MS-Office is required. Essential skills include basic negotiation abilities, teamwork, attention to detail, and a strong execution and results orientation.
