Role Overview

Maaden is seeking a Senior Engineer, Automation & Digitalization, for its Aluminum Business Unit. This full-time position is located in Ras Tannurah, Eastern Region, and involves leading the end-to-end delivery of automation and digitalization initiatives across Ma’aden Aluminum. The role focuses on converting prioritized business needs into secure, reliable, scalable, and maintainable digital solutions that enhance productivity, process efficiency, operational performance, safety, and user experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end delivery of assigned automation and digitalization initiatives, including requirements gathering, process mapping, solution design, configuration/development, testing, deployment, handover, and hypercare.
  • Collaborate with process owners and subject-matter experts to identify automation opportunities, define business requirements, confirm success measures, and prioritize solutions based on value, feasibility, risk, and adoption readiness.
  • Design and implement digital solutions using approved RPA, workflow, low-code/no-code, integration, analytics, and related automation platforms, ensuring alignment with enterprise architecture and technical standards.
  • Prepare solution designs, functional and technical specifications, test scenarios, deployment plans, operating procedures, and support documentation for sustainable operation.
  • Coordinate user acceptance testing, defect resolution, go-live readiness, training inputs, and handover to support teams and business owners.
  • Ensure solutions comply with cybersecurity, data privacy, access control, change management, records management, and relevant IT/OT governance requirements.
  • Integrate solutions with business and operational systems using approved interfaces, APIs, workflows, and data-integration patterns, while maintaining data quality and system reliability.
  • Monitor solution performance and benefits post-deployment, resolve issues, identify enhancement opportunities, and support sustained adoption and value realization.
  • Manage assigned vendors and technical partners, review deliverables, monitor progress, and ensure compliance with scope, quality, schedule, and technical requirements.
  • Coach engineers and specialists on delivery practices, reusable components, documentation, testing, and technical quality, contributing to automation standards and knowledge sharing.
  • Maintain awareness of emerging automation and digital technologies and recommend practical applications relevant to aluminum operations and support functions.
  • Apply Ma’aden safety requirements and support safe execution when work interfaces with plants, operational technology, or production environments.

Required Experience and Competencies

Candidates should possess 5-10 years of relevant experience. The role requires strong capabilities in Ma’aden's high-performance competencies, including achievement drive and ownership, accountability and integrity, collaboration and teamwork, communication and stakeholder management, continuous improvement, customer and business focus, decision-making and judgment, planning and execution, problem-solving, and safety and care.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Ras Tannurah, Saudi Arabia, requiring 8 hours of work per day. The role involves partnering with process owners, subject-matter experts, IT, engineering, and site teams to deliver digital solutions.
