Dentist GP Assistant

About the Role

Nahdi Medical Co. is seeking a Dentist GP Assistant to join their team in Makkah, Makkah Region. This full-time position requires 2-5 years of experience and involves providing comprehensive chairside assistance to general or specialist dentists during clinical and surgical dental procedures, as well as performing essential clinical supportive functions.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist dentists in diagnostic, operative, surgical, periodontal, preventive, orthodontic, prosthodontic, endodontic, or pedodontic procedures during patient examinations and treatments.
• Perform clinical functions including patient preparation and dismissal, point-of-use cleaning of instruments, equipment disinfection, providing post-operative instructions as prescribed by the dentist, maintaining supply orders, and managing applicable records.
• Participate in patient examinations and treatments by retracting cheeks and tissues, and by irrigating and aspirating mouth fluids safely.
• Anticipate the dentist's needs and practice four-handed dentistry to ensure efficient operative procedures for patients or as part of a dental surgical operating team.
• Execute expanded duty procedures under the direct supervision of the dentist as required.
• Review patient medical histories, alert the dentist to significant issues, assist in updating patient histories, and flag charts to note critical problems.
• Accurately chart findings of the patient's oral conditions as reported by the dentist and record treatments rendered in the patient's permanent chart.
• Maintain and periodically review skills in First Aid and Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation, managing medical emergencies until the dentist arrives or assisting the dentist in providing emergency first aid until additional medical help is available.
• Instruct patients in post-operative home care procedures as directed by the dentist.
• Perform other related duties as requested by the manager based on business needs.

Experience and Qualifications

• A minimum of 2 to 5 years of relevant experience is required for this position.

Work Environment

The role is primarily based indoors (100%), with no outdoor work required.

Work Schedule

The work schedule consists of 6 working days per week, with 1 day off. Daily working hours are 8 net hours, structured according to a shift schedule approved by the head of the department.
