About KBR and the Role

KBR, Inc., through its Sustainable Technology Solutions (STS) division, delivers comprehensive and value-added solutions across the entire asset lifecycle. These include world-class licensed process technologies, differentiated advisory services, deep technical domain expertise, and energy transition solutions. KBR STS is seeking a Safety Officer to join its team, supporting operations in the Makkah region, specifically in Rabigh and Makkah. This is a full-time position.

Role Purpose

The Safety Officer is responsible for ensuring the safety of workers engaged in Oil & Gas Facilities. This involves conducting thorough safety inspections, identifying potential hazards, and implementing corrective and preventive measures to maintain a secure working environment and uphold safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect equipment, tools, and working conditions to ensure the safety of workers within Oil & Gas Facilities.
• Examine safety belts, ladders, ropes, rubber goods, and various tools, replacing any items that do not meet established safety requirements.
• Observe work crews to identify and report any laxity in safety precautions, such as the failure to use personal protective equipment including goggles and rubber gloves.
• Assess the conditions of ditches and tunnels, recommending the use of braces or other necessary supports to prevent cave-ins that could endanger workers.
• Investigate accidents to determine their causes and devise effective preventive measures to avoid recurrence.
• Provide instruction to workers on the proper use of safety equipment and adherence to safe work methods, as required.
• Ensure strict compliance with all company safety procedures and industry regulations.
• Encourage and facilitate the reporting of unsafe acts and conditions among personnel.
• Comply with all Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) procedures both prior to and during the commencement of work activities.

Required Experience

• A minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in a safety officer role, ideally within Oil & Gas Facilities or a related heavy industrial environment.

Work Environment and Compliance

This role operates within Oil & Gas Facilities, requiring a constant focus on safety and adherence to stringent operational guidelines. The Safety Officer is integral to maintaining a culture where safety is prioritized, and all personnel are aware of and comply with SHE procedures. The position is full-time, based in the Makkah region, covering sites in Rabigh and Makkah.
