About the Role

Acwa China is seeking a Field Operator Transmission to join our team in Neom. This full-time position requires 5-10 years of experience and is crucial for maintaining the safe and reliable operation of transmission systems within the NEOM Green Hydrogen Project.

Role Overview

The Field Operator Transmission is responsible for the safe and reliable operation, inspection, monitoring, and basic maintenance of transmission systems and associated equipment. This role ensures continuous power transmission in accordance with approved operating procedures, HSE requirements, and applicable grid standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, and inspect transmission equipment, including substations, transformers, switchgear, circuit breakers, isolators, protection systems, and associated electrical assets.
• Conduct routine field inspections, identify abnormal conditions, and report equipment faults, alarms, leaks, overheating, or other operational issues.
• Perform authorized switching, isolation, and restoration activities in accordance with approved procedures, permits, and switching programs.
• Support preventive and corrective maintenance activities, including equipment isolation, testing, inspection, and safe restoration to service.
• Ensure all activities comply with company HSE policies, electrical safety procedures, Permit to Work (PTW) requirements, and applicable transmission/grid standards.
• Respond promptly to equipment failures, trips, alarms, and emergency situations, providing support for troubleshooting and system restoration.
• Maintain accurate operational logs, inspection records, switching records, equipment status reports, and incident documentation.
• Coordinate with Control Room Operators, Maintenance, Engineering, Grid/Transmission Control, and contractors to ensure safe and efficient transmission operations.
• Verify the availability and operational condition of transmission equipment and promptly escalate defects that could affect system reliability.
• Support operational improvements, reliability initiatives, and implementation of best practices across transmission operations.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• 5-10 years of experience in a relevant field.
• Electrical safety and switching authorization certification is preferred.
• Knowledge of Saudi electricity transmission regulations and grid requirements is an advantage.
• Experience working with HV/EHV transmission systems and substations is preferred.
• Experience in shift-based operations and high-voltage switching is an advantage.
