About the Role

Leylaty Group is seeking a Commis Asian Cuisine to join the culinary team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position supports the kitchen operations at KUURU, focusing on the preparation and production of Asian and Nikkei dishes. The role ensures adherence to KUURU's established standards, recipes, and stringent food safety requirements.

Role Purpose and Development

This position is designed for a motivated culinary professional with 0-1 years of experience, particularly in Asian cuisine, who is eager to develop technical skills within a dynamic and professional kitchen environment. The Commis Chef will work closely with senior chefs to master various cooking techniques and contribute to the high-quality culinary offerings of KUURU.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist the Chef de Partie and Demi Chef de Partie with daily kitchen operations.
• Prepare ingredients and complete mise en place according to production requirements.
• Support the preparation of Asian and Nikkei dishes following established recipes and standards.
• Perform basic food preparation tasks including washing, peeling, cutting, portioning, and marinating ingredients.
• Assist with the preparation of sauces, dressings, stocks, garnishes, and other kitchen components.
• Ensure all ingredients are fresh, properly stored, and handled correctly.
• Adhere to recipes, cooking methods, portion specifications, and presentation standards.
• Support the kitchen team during service to ensure efficient and accurate order preparation.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and hygienic workstation throughout the shift.
• Follow all food safety, HACCP, health, and hygiene procedures.
• Properly clean and maintain kitchen equipment, utensils, and work areas.
• Assist with stock rotation, labeling, and proper food storage.
• Help minimize food waste through proper preparation and portion control.
• Follow instructions from senior chefs and provide team support as required.
• Assist with opening and closing duties of the assigned kitchen section.
• Continuously develop knowledge of Asian and Nikkei cooking techniques.

Qualifications and Experience

• 0-1 years of experience as a Commis Chef or similar entry-level culinary position.
• Previous experience in Asian cuisine is required.
• Experience in Japanese, Nikkei, Chinese, Thai, Korean, or other Asian cuisines is an advantage.
• Basic knowledge of Asian ingredients, sauces, seasonings, and cooking techniques.
• Basic knife skills and food preparation knowledge.
• Basic understanding of food safety and hygiene standards.
