About the Role

King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, is seeking a Consultant Cardiac Surgeon Adult. This full-time role involves the diagnosis and treatment of medical diseases and conditions within Cardiac Surgery, ensuring high-quality medical care in accordance with established bylaws, rules, regulations, and hospital policies.

Clinical Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality patient care across all aspects of Cardiac Surgery, adhering to approved clinical privileges.
• Offer consultations (inpatient and emergency room) upon request, responding promptly within prescribed timeframes as outlined in hospital policy.
• Ensure timely completion, accuracy, and eligibility of medical records.
• Provide on-call service, ensuring availability and response within the prescribed timeframe according to hospital policy.
• Conduct daily morning rounds to identify patients ready for discharge, ensuring discharge orders are written 24 hours prior to discharge.
• Perform other assigned clinical responsibilities related to Cardiac Surgery.

Academic Contributions

• Provide orientation, bedside training, and supervision to interns, residents, and fellows as assigned.
• Participate in the Department’s educational activities and training programs.
• Partake in national and international medical conferences.
• Maintain and enhance professional knowledge and fulfill continuing education requirements.

Research Engagement

• Participate in clinical, basic, and translational research projects in accordance with Research Advisory Council Policy. This contributes to advancing knowledge, improving postgraduate education quality, and enhancing the Hospital’s national and international recognition.

Administrative Duties

• Undertake administrative duties assigned by the Head of Section or Chairman.
• Participate in all mandatory departmental activities and serve on departmental and hospital committees and other administrative functions as required.
• Assist the department in developing and implementing techniques and practices that maximize resource utilization within the department and across the Hospital.
• Abide by current hospital and medical staff bylaws, relevant rules, regulations, and policies, staying updated on any changes.
• Follow all hospital-related policies and procedures.
• Participate in self- and others’ education, training, and development as applicable.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience

• Graduation from an accredited medical school.
• Completion of the required period of training in the specialty.
• Seven (7) years of training in a specialty or subspecialty, plus postgraduate training experience, totaling seven (7) or more years of experience in the subspecialty.
