The Role of Environmental Manager

As an Environmental Manager at SATCO, you will be instrumental in driving our commitment to sustainability within our construction programs. This role is dedicated to ensuring environmental compliance and fostering sustainable practices across all projects. You will oversee the integration of environmental considerations into our operations, ensuring that our construction activities adhere to all relevant regulations and permitting requirements, thereby minimizing our ecological footprint.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure environmental compliance and permitting across the construction program, utilizing regulatory frameworks and best practices to minimize environmental impact.
• Conduct thorough environmental assessments and audits for construction projects, identifying potential risks and implementing mitigation strategies.
• Collaborate with project managers and construction teams to integrate environmental considerations into project planning and execution.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation of environmental compliance activities, preparing reports for stakeholders and regulatory agencies.
• Lead training programs for staff on environmental policies and procedures, fostering a culture of environmental responsibility within the organization.
• Monitor changes in environmental legislation and industry standards, advising the organization on necessary adjustments to maintain compliance.
• Engage with external stakeholders, including government agencies and environmental organizations, to promote transparency and collaboration on sustainability initiatives.
• Implement key performance indicators (KPIs) to track the effectiveness of environmental management strategies, using data to drive continuous improvement.
• Participate in community outreach efforts to raise awareness about environmental issues and the company’s sustainability initiatives.

Required Experience and Qualifications

Candidates for the Environmental Manager position should possess 5 to 10 years of experience in environmental management, with a focus on construction programs. The role requires a strong understanding of environmental regulations, permitting processes, and the ability to conduct assessments, implement mitigation strategies, and lead compliance efforts.
