About the Role

KUWAIT STEEL is seeking a Reliability Electrical Lead Technician to join its team in Al Qatif, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position requires 2-5 years of experience and focuses on ensuring the operational reliability of electrical systems across all plants. The role involves conducting condition-based monitoring, providing diagnoses, documenting failures, and actively supporting various reliability and maintenance initiatives.

Role Purpose and Impact

The Reliability Electrical Lead Technician plays a critical role in proactive maintenance strategies within KUWAIT STEEL. This position is responsible for detecting early equipment failures, analyzing data to inform maintenance decisions, and contributing to the overall efficiency and uptime of plant operations. The technician will work closely with Reliability Engineers and maintenance teams to implement best practices and support continuous improvement efforts.

Key Responsibilities

Carry out condition-based monitoring (CBM) activities, including coordination and data collection for vibration analysis, thermography, and ultrasound analysis, to detect early failures in all plants.
Provide diagnoses based on the analysis of CBM data collection for common patterns.
Document failure modes on site and collect physical evidence such as photos, measurements, and parts condition.
Support Root Cause Analysis (RCA) investigations and validate abnormal trends before escalation.
Confirm condition monitoring alerts and support shutdown reliability assessments.
Ensure measurement points are correctly recorded in SAP-PM and maintain historical reliability logs.
Support Weibull data collection and prepare condition-based monitoring activity reports.
Assist Reliability Engineers in preparing weekly, monthly, and annual reports.
Support Reliability Engineers in conducting annual audits in all plants, using the Reliability assessment grid.
Assist Reliability Engineers in conducting work quality audits during shutdowns.
Support Reliability Engineers in budget preparation with technical information and analyses.

Qualifications and Experience

2-5 years of experience performing condition monitoring, equipment inspection, and equipment condition assessment activities in steel plants or similar heavy industrial environments.
Prior experience guiding technicians in steel plants, rolling mills, or similar continuous process industries.
Demonstrated experience supporting reliability improvement activities, equipment diagnostics, and maintenance teams in continuous process industries.
