About the Mechanical Supervisor Role

ACWA Power is seeking a Mechanical Supervisor to join their team in Rabigh. This full-time position requires 2-5 years of experience and involves overseeing the maintenance of plant mechanical equipment under the direction of the Maintenance Engineer.

Role Overview and Responsibilities

The Mechanical Supervisor is responsible for the execution and oversight of all preventive and corrective maintenance activities, including monthly/annual outages and overhauling work on plant mechanical equipment. This role requires close coordination with the Maintenance Engineer and effective management of maintenance staff.

  • Assigning preventive and corrective maintenance tasks as directed by the Maintenance Engineer.
  • Supervising and coordinating the activities of maintenance personnel.
  • Maintaining work records, preparing reports, and composing relevant correspondence.
  • Executing work orders through the CMMS (SAP) and liaising with the Maintenance Engineer on job completion and technical issues.
  • Ensuring necessary communications are maintained to report on action items and facilitate corrective actions.
  • Assisting the Maintenance Engineer with corrective and planned maintenance in alignment with the annual maintenance schedule.
  • Maintaining logs, records, and files for all assigned equipment, including history and spare part inventory.
  • Preparing purchase requisitions for spare parts and consumables, adhering to budgetary constraints and ensuring strategic spares availability.
  • Developing a comprehensive understanding of plant processes and systems to troubleshoot problems and lead the maintenance team in issue resolution.
  • Supervising, directing, and coordinating the activities of all personnel within the assigned area.
  • Identifying competency gaps among subordinate staff and implementing necessary training or development actions.
  • Conducting annual performance evaluations for reporting employees.
  • Providing on-the-job training to new employees and evaluating their performance.
  • Identifying and controlling hazards within the assigned work area.
  • Ensuring adherence to operational controls and monitoring of identified aspects.
  • Reporting deviations within the Integrated Management System.
  • Reporting emergencies, incidents, and near misses.
  • Ensuring effective utilization of resources.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • A minimum of 4 years of related experience and training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Awareness of Quality, Occupational Health & Safety, and Environment Management system principles.
  • Knowledge of applicable legal requirements.
  • Proficiency in Hazard Risk assessment.
  • Competence in Aspect Impact assessment.
  • Knowledge of waste identification, classification, and disposal.
  • Understanding of Emission Monitoring procedures.
  • Ability to lead a maintenance group effectively.
  • Excellent communication skills in English.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Ability to use SAP as an end-user.

Work Environment

This position involves working near moving mechanical parts and in outdoor weather conditions. There may be occasional exposure to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or chemical risks, and electrical shock in high or precarious places. The noise level in the work environment is typically moderate, though very loud conditions can occur.
