Role Overview

Jacobs is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer to join the team in Neom, Al Jawf, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position involves providing technical leadership during the closeout and handover phase of a major water infrastructure program. The role focuses on ensuring that electrical installations are completed, tested, documented, and handed over in compliance with approved designs, project specifications, safety requirements, and client expectations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the completion, testing, commissioning, closeout, and handover of electrical systems for water transmission infrastructure, pumping stations, treatment facilities, substations, and related assets.
• Review the status of outstanding electrical works, identify completion gaps and risks, and coordinate recovery actions to meet project closeout milestones.
• Verify that electrical installations comply with approved designs, project specifications, applicable codes and standards, quality requirements, and electrical safety procedures.
• Review and close outstanding technical queries, punch-list items, non-conformance reports, design changes, concessions, and contractor action items.
• Coordinate the completion of factory and site acceptance testing, system energization, functional testing, integrated systems testing, reliability testing, and performance demonstrations.
• Review commissioning records, test results, electrical safety documentation, energization procedures, protection settings, inspection reports, and final acceptance evidence.
• Coordinate electrical interfaces with mechanical, process, civil, structural, instrumentation, control, SCADA, telecommunications, and operations teams to confirm system integration and operational readiness.
• Review and verify closeout documentation, including as-built drawings, approved design changes, operation and maintenance manuals, asset registers, spare-parts records, warranties, training records, and equipment certificates.
• Support final inspections, asset acceptance, contractor demobilization, operational readiness, and the formal transfer of electrical systems to the client and operations teams.
• Provide technical leadership, resolve complex electrical issues, mentor junior engineers, and maintain effective communication with project stakeholders.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in electrical engineering, preferably within water infrastructure or related heavy industrial projects.
• Demonstrated experience in leading completion, commissioning, closeout, and handover activities for complex electrical systems.
• Strong understanding of electrical codes, standards, and safety procedures.
• Ability to coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and resolve technical issues effectively.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Neom, Al Jawf, Saudi Arabia, requiring on-site presence to oversee project closeout and handover activities for major water infrastructure assets.
