The Role: Data Management, Specialist

The Data Management, Specialist will play a pivotal role in supporting the effective management, governance, and continuous improvement of organizational data. This position involves contributing to initiatives that enhance data quality, governance, accessibility, and overall data management practices, working closely with both business and technical stakeholders to align data practices with organizational requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Support the implementation and continuous improvement of data management practices and frameworks.
Support and coordinate data management projects and initiatives across the organization.
Develop, maintain, and implement data management policies, procedures, standards, and guidelines.
Assess compliance with applicable data management requirements, policies, and controls.
Prepare compliance assessments, reports, findings, and recommendations.
Support data governance activities and promote effective data management practices across business functions.
Collaborate with business, IT, and data stakeholders to identify and address data management requirements and issues.
Support initiatives related to data quality, data governance, metadata, data classification, and data lifecycle management.
Monitor data management activities and support the identification and resolution of data-related issues.
Prepare and present data management reports, updates, and recommendations to relevant stakeholders.
Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders to support data management initiatives.
Stay up to date with data management standards, frameworks, and industry best practices.

Education and Professional Experience

Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Management, or a related field.
A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in data management, data governance, or a related field.

Required Skills and Knowledge

Proven experience in project management and delivering data-related initiatives.
Practical experience and strong knowledge of data management principles, processes, and practices.
Experience in compliance assessment, monitoring, and reporting.
