Housekeeper Public Area Supervisor

About the Role

Sheraton is seeking a Housekeeper-Public Area Supervisor to join its team. This full-time position involves ensuring the cleanliness and condition of assigned public areas meet established standards and assisting management in various operational and personnel functions. The role requires 0-1 years of experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Utilize checklists to verify that the cleanliness and condition of all assigned areas meet designated standards.
• Identify and report preventative or other maintenance issues in public areas or guest rooms.
• Request preventative maintenance or non-urgent repairs using appropriate methods and contact other departments directly for urgent repairs.
• Clean, maintain, and properly store cleaning equipment.
• Document and report outstanding issues and complete required Housekeeping paperwork.
• Respond promptly to requests from guests, the Front Desk, or At Your Service.
• Assist management with hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, motivating, and coaching employees, serving as a role model.
• Follow all company, safety, and security policies and procedures; report maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries; complete safety training and certifications; and properly store flammable materials.
• Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional; maintain confidentiality of proprietary information; and protect company assets.
• Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards; anticipate and address guests’ service needs; assist individuals with disabilities; and thank guests with genuine appreciation.
• Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others; support the team to achieve common goals; and listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of other employees.
• Communicate with others using clear and professional language.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to move, lift, carry, and place objects weighing up to 55 pounds without assistance, and in excess of 55 pounds with assistance.
• Capability to push and pull a loaded housekeeping cart and other work-related machinery over sloping and uneven surfaces.
• Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
• Stand, sit, kneel, or walk for an extended period across an entire work shift.
• Grasp, turn, and manipulate objects of varying size and weight, requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
• Enter and locate work-related information using computers and/or point of sale systems.
• Visually verify and interpret written documents.
