Construction Project Engineer (Mining experience)

About the Role

TRS Staffing Solutions is seeking an experienced Construction Project Engineer with a strong background in mining. This contract position is based in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia. The successful candidate will support the execution of large-scale projects within the Mining & Metals sector, encompassing mineral processing, recycling, smelting, refining, and heavy industrial operations.

Role Purpose and Context

The Construction Project Engineer will coordinate multidisciplinary construction activities. This role is critical for ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality project delivery from the construction phase through to commissioning and final handover.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and oversee construction activities across various disciplines, including Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, Piping, and Instrumentation and Controls.
• Monitor construction progress against approved schedules and project milestones.
• Interface with EPC/EPCM teams, contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and client representatives to ensure seamless project execution.
• Review and support construction work packages, method statements, risk assessments, and execution plans.
• Ensure compliance with project specifications, quality requirements, and Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) standards.
• Participate in construction planning meetings, progress reviews, and contractor performance evaluations.
• Identify and resolve field execution issues, technical challenges, and construction clashes.
• Support commissioning, startup, testing, and project handover activities.
• Prepare and maintain construction reports, progress updates, Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and management presentations.
• Promote a strong safety culture and ensure all site activities adhere to project and corporate safety requirements.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in construction project engineering.
• Demonstrated experience in large-scale Mining & Metals, mineral processing, recycling, smelting, refining, or heavy industrial projects.
