Electrical Technical Engineer

About the Role

UrbaCon Contracting & Trading Company is seeking an Electrical Technical Engineer to provide essential technical engineering support for electrical systems, equipment, and infrastructure across various projects and operational activities. This full-time position is critical for ensuring compliance with project specifications, operational requirements, safety standards, and regulatory guidelines.

Role Context and Collaboration

The Electrical Technical Engineer supports the design, review, installation, testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and maintenance of electrical systems. The role involves close collaboration with engineering teams, project management, construction, operations, vendors, and consultants to facilitate efficient execution of electrical engineering activities, resolve technical issues, ensure system reliability, and drive continuous improvement in electrical performance across the organization.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and liaise with MEP coordinators, the main contractor's technical team, consultants, and other relevant parties.
• Ensure discipline shop drawings are prepared in accordance with design drawings, specifications, and details, coordinating with all other disciplines.
• Ensure efficient submission of drawings within target schedules and to the highest quality.
• Verify that shop drawings comply with local authorities having jurisdiction over the discipline's scope of work (*, KM, QCDD, Ooredoo, Health and Safety), and all applicable project standards such as QCS2014 and project specifications.
• Ensure adherence to relevant Company policies and procedures.
• Maintain satisfaction of the client, consultant, main contractor, and MEP project manager/CM.
• Guide technical engineers and draftsmen through work activities management during the project engineering phase.
• Assign specific targets for various work activities and plan and allocate responsibilities to team members.
• Review and approve Electrical shop drawings and design calculations prior to submission.
• Review and sign-off Electrical material technical submittals before issuance to consultants.
• Review and approve method statements in compliance with project specifications and authority requirements.
• Liaise with other technical departments for relevant reviews and approvals.
• Support the implementation of HSE initiatives, participate in safety awareness activities, and contribute to incident reporting and resolution in alignment with company and IMS policies.

Qualifications and Experience

• Candidates should possess 0-1 year of relevant experience.
