About Bechtel and the Ar Rjum Project

This full-time role is based in Saudi Arabia, supporting the Ar Rjum Project, a greenfield gold project. This project includes three open pit mining operations, a processing plant, tailings management facilities, and supporting infrastructure such as water and power supply, maintenance facilities, offices, and accommodation. The site is located within the Central Arabian Gold Region.

The Role of Field Engineering E&I

The Electrical & Instrumentation Field Engineer is responsible for construction engineering tasks and activities within the electrical and instrumentation and controls discipline. This role ensures adherence to relevant codes and standards throughout the project lifecycle, from installation and testing of commodities through turnover to Startup/Commissioning. Candidates should possess 5-10 years of experience in a relevant field, demonstrating strong planning, organizational skills, and the ability to produce clear documentation.

Key Responsibilities

Coordinate with engineering teams on constructability and design issues related to commodity installations and work sequencing.
Provide field engineering support to superintendents, assisting personnel in meeting cost and time schedules, verifying materials, equipment, and quality, and ensuring design requirements are met.
Develop work plans, coordinate material take-offs and requisitions, perform and document inspections, report progress, and resolve design and construction conflicts for electrical commodities.
Ensure procedural compliance, material control, and thorough documentation of inspections for completed work.
Direct or perform the preparation of quantity listings for field-purchased material and equipment, and initiate requisitions for field material purchases.
Support the preparation of construction drawings and schedules, design of temporary construction facilities, and ensure the preparation of as-built drawings and other job plans.
Support the planning and delivery of construction materials and equipment, ensuring proper warehousing and storage for environmental protection.
Review specifications, purchase orders, subcontracts, inspection reports, delivery schedules, instruction manuals, and technical data to provide site assistance and advice.

Candidate Requirements

A minimum of 5 to 10 years of experience in a relevant field.
Ability to conduct field inspections and participate in project walk-downs, requiring physical capability for extensive walking, climbing ladders and scaffolding, using fall protection and other PPE, and navigating uneven or confined spaces.
Excellent interpersonal skills, a team-oriented approach, and a commitment to knowledge sharing.
Demonstrated ability to solve problems through lateral thinking and understanding client needs to ensure technical compliance and provide training.
Capability to work effectively within a multi-disciplinary, multi-cultural team and manage diverse relationships.
Self-driven with the capacity to plan and execute work independently, without direct supervision from senior management or peers.
