Overview of the Planning Engineer Role

Trs Technical Service is seeking a highly experienced Planning Engineer for a contract position in Al Khobar, Eastern Region. This role supports our client, a leader in project design and construction, who is committed to fostering a work environment that embraces Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DE&I) to drive creative solutions. The successful candidate will serve as a lead planner, contributing significantly to project control activities.

Key Responsibilities in Project Planning

• Develop comprehensive Work Breakdown and Project Coding Structures to ensure control and integrity of work defined by the contract.
• Create fully integrated engineering, procurement, fabrication, and construction (EPFC) schedules.
• Plan and organize individual work assignments and execute tasks as directed by management staff.

Schedule Management and Performance Analysis

• Analyze project schedules, review delays, and propose schedule recovery alternatives.
• Present schedule analysis and recovery plans to internal teams and the client.
• Recommend effective solutions or recovery plans to mitigate schedule impacts or delays.
• Analyze variances in schedule performance against the established plan.
• Communicate reasons for variance issuance and propose mitigation plans to Project Management.

Candidate Profile and Experience

• A Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Engineering is preferred.
• Minimum of 15+ years of experience in performing project planning control activities and/or supervising the preparation of Project Controls activities for projects or assignments.
• Proven experience working on projects within the Middle East region.
• Demonstrated capability to serve as a lead planner for a defined project scope.

Required Skills and Competencies

• Expert proficiency with the Microsoft suite of tools.
• Strong job-related technical knowledge necessary to successfully complete assigned tasks.
• Ability to communicate effectively with diverse audiences, including management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors.
• Exceptional ability to attend to detail and execute work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner.
