Sr. Materials and Corrosion Engineer (Offshore)

About the Role

كيلوج براون اند روت is seeking a Sr. Materials and Corrosion Engineer (Offshore) to join their team in Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position is crucial for maintaining the integrity and longevity of assets through specialized expertise in materials selection, corrosion prevention, and assessment. The role requires a strong technical foundation to guide decision-making and ensure compliance with Aramco and industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead Brownfield and Greenfield Offshore Projects, serving as a technical focal point for materials engineering and managing project bids, execution, resources, and deliverables.
• Develop Corrosion Management Programs, Material Selection Reports, Material Selection Diagrams, Coating Selection Diagrams, and Corrosion Loop Diagrams.
• Conduct corrosion assessments on pipelines, piping, and equipment, with a preference for experience using ECE-5 software.
• Perform Non-metallic Material Studies, including assessments and material selection for appropriate non-metallic materials.
• Provide technical support for various disciplines and project-related tasks and workshops, including OSI, RBI, and Corrosion Inspection Manuals for operating assets and new projects.
• Develop and resolve Technical Queries, review and approve materials substitutions, and address site fabrication issues.
• Lead engineering assessments based on applicable codes such as API 579, BS DNV RP F101, ASME ******, ISO 15156, and ISO 21457.
• Review Technical Bid Evaluations (TBEs) and Non-Material Requirements (NMRs), primarily focusing on the materials scope.
• Review integrity assessment reports, which may include ILI reports, Fitness for Purpose (FFP) / Recommendations for Repair Reports (RRR), ILI raw data, and Direct Assessment reports.
• Assist in the training and development of junior team members.
• Liaise with global offices for support as needed.
• Conduct site visits outside offices when required.

Required Qualifications and Experience

Candidates should possess over 15 years of relevant experience and demonstrate proficiency in the following areas:

• Aramco Standards and Best Practices, NACE requirements, Material Selection, Corrosion Modelling, Damage Mechanisms, Corrosion Control, and Cathodic Protection.
• Experience with Water Injection, HPHT, and sour gas fields.
• Knowledge of APCS coating systems and internal FBE coatings.
• Expertise in chemical treatment, inhibitor selection, and oilfield production chemicals.
• Understanding of material grades, alloy selection, heat treatment, and weld engineering.
• Strong experience working on pre-FEED, FEED, Detailed Design, EPC, and PMC roles.

Work Environment

This role is based in Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia, and involves working as part of the Offshore team. The position may require occasional site visits outside the office.
