Project Manager

About the Role

Almarai is seeking a highly experienced Project Manager to oversee bakery capital projects from initial specification and tender through installation, commissioning, and handover to production. This full-time role involves managing international equipment suppliers and local contractors, ensuring projects are delivered in compliance with Almarai's quality system, standard quality procedures, and engineering specifications. The position is available in Al-Kharj and Hail.

Role Context and Objectives

The Project Manager will be responsible for the planning, execution, and overall management of bakery capital projects. A key objective is to ensure all projects adhere to laid-down specifications, approved drawings, and approved capital expenditure, while maintaining high standards of quality and safety throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver projects according to agreed scope, schedule, and approved capital expenditure.
• Lead Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) at vendor premises and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) during installation, through to production handover.
• Control project spending against the approved budget and provide accurate forecasting throughout the project lifecycle.
• Ensure all project work meets required specifications, hygienic design standards, and ISO 22000 food safety compliance.
• Ensure all installation, commissioning, and contractor activities are conducted in a safe and efficient manner.
• Manage consultants, suppliers, contractors, and internal customers to achieve project objectives.
• Direct, manage, and develop the project team to meet current and future project demands.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent engineering discipline with strong expertise in bakery equipment and technology.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in project management within bakery manufacturing.
• Demonstrated experience in delivering bakery projects end-to-end.
• Hands-on experience in the installation and commissioning of bakery equipment.
• Thorough working knowledge of bakery technology and process equipment.
• Prior experience in the Gulf region, gained within large bakery plants.
• Contract management experience with international equipment suppliers.

Work Environment

This role operates within Almarai's bakery manufacturing facilities, requiring close collaboration with internal teams, external suppliers, and contractors. The Project Manager will be involved in various stages of project implementation, from factory acceptance testing to site commissioning.
