The Role

Penspen is seeking a Senior Instrumentation & Control Engineer to join their team in Al Khafji, Eastern region. This full-time position involves overseeing instrumentation and control engineering deliverables for major oil and gas/petrochemical projects, ensuring compliance with project requirements and international standards.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee instrumentation and control engineering deliverables developed by EPC contractors, ensuring adherence to project requirements and international standards (ISA, IEC).
Review instrument datasheets, I/O lists, loop diagrams, and control logic narratives.
Validate integration between control systems (DCS, ESD, F&G) and field instruments.
Evaluate vendor submittals, Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) procedures, and technical deviations.
Participate in design reviews and ensure the operability and maintainability of control systems.
Support field verification, loop checks, and commissioning activities.
Provide assurance of compliance with project HSE and control system standards.

Qualifications and Experience

A Bachelor's Degree in Instrumentation & Control Engineering, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or Mechanical Engineering is required.
A minimum of twelve (12) years of experience in the field.
At least six (6) years of this experience must be specifically within Instrumentation & Control Engineering for major Oil and Gas/Petrochemical projects.
Demonstrated experience with Distributed Control Systems (DCS) is essential.
