About the Winder Role at GE Vernova

GE Vernova is seeking a dedicated Winder to join our team in Dammam, Eastern, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position is central to the maintenance and repair of critical power generation components, specifically focusing on the rewinding and repair of generator rotors and stators. The role involves executing specialized technical work both within the service workshop and on site as required, ensuring high standards of operational integrity and safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Remove old windings from generator rotors or stators.
• Perform rewinding of generator rotors or stators.
• Repair generator winding and insulation systems at GEMTEC or on site when necessary.
• Inspect hardware and consumables required for rewinding activities.
• Conduct standard electrical testing during rewinding operations.
• Perform final visual inspections of rotors and stators.
• Execute electrical testing of generators.
• Maintain tools and equipment within the service workshop.
• Prepare reports and protocols for all activities related to generator rewinding and repair.
• Provide support to the spin pit team as needed.
• Undertake other assigned activities from superiors.
• Ensure all work adheres to GE's Environmental, Health & Safety, and Ethic & Compliances rules.
• Prepare and maintain regular periodic inspections for Service Workshop tools, instruments, and components.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum of 3 years' experience with winding of turbogenerators greater than 25 MW.
• Proven experience in performing manual winding work of turbo generators.
• Working experience within a production environment.
• Sound knowledge of winding processes.
• Sound knowledge of operating induction heating machines.
• Experience in carrying out dimensional measurements.
• Experience in mechanical assembly activities related to generators.
• Ability to execute rewinding and repair work according to technical instructions and guidance from the Lead Winder.
• Understanding of windings and mechanical assembly drawings.
