About the Role

Air Arabia is seeking a Captain A320 to join their team in Dammam. This is a full-time position for an experienced pilot with over 10 years of experience. The Captain is responsible for conducting assigned flights in accordance with the Airline Operational Manual and civil aviation authority regulations, ensuring ultimate safety, security, and efficiency.

Role Purpose

The primary purpose of this role is to ensure the safe, secure, and efficient operation of all assigned flights. The Captain will support and guide the flight and cabin crew, effectively manage emergencies and ad-hoc scenarios, and maintain control of the flight to ensure successful performance and uphold the corporate image.

Key Responsibilities

1. Operate assigned aircraft according to schedules and approved flight plans, bearing ultimate responsibility for the aircraft during flights, prioritizing safety, efficiency, and passenger comfort.
2. Ensure all assigned flights adhere to the Airline’s Operations Manual and relevant regulations, continuously implementing and monitoring procedures for safe and smooth aircraft operation.
3. Verify timely attendance, proper grooming, fitness, and legal compliance for self and flight crew, conducting pre-flight briefings and ensuring continuous briefing as per adopted procedures.
4. Liaise with co-pilots and the Dispatch Team before each flight to ensure flight and cabin crew are prepared with necessary information, including aircraft technical status, route preferences, weather, fuel, and role distribution.
5. Ensure efficient and effective fuel usage during flight, within the safety constraints detailed in the Airline’s Operations Manual.
6. Oversee required safety, security, fuel, and transit checks by assigned flight and cabin crew before, during, and after each flight, directing crew actions during irregularities and escalating issues as needed.
7. Collaborate with Maintenance Engineers to confirm aircraft technical status and suitability for flight, seeking support from MCC and MROs for concerns or defects, and implementing immediate rectification where applicable.
8. Ensure all necessary documents and technical logs are accurately loaded with data as per Airline and civil aviation authority regulations, including the technical logbook, journey book, and boarding sheets.
9. Ensure the Airline Operations Manual is distributed, accounted for, maintained, kept up-to-date, understood, and complied with by Flight Crew.
10. Stay current with legal requirements from regulatory bodies such as the civil aviation authority, Airbus Company, and other relevant bodies pertaining to flights and Flight Crew.
11. Undertake additional ground-based tasks, such as Safety Officer or Security Officer, as directed by the line manager and in accordance with Part A of the Airline’s Operations Manual.

Required Experience and Skills

• Acceptable industry knowledge in aircraft systems and operating procedures.
• Knowledge and exposure to handle delegated roles such as security or safety, as required by Airline and civil aviation authority regulations.
• Exposure to QA/Safety/Security/Audit procedures and practices affecting Flight Operations.
• Capability to implement policies, procedures, and manuals according to approved standards and regulations.
• Ability to perform effectively in a changing environment with heavy workloads and ad-hoc scenarios.
• Composed, self-confident, and focused, capable of handling emergencies and threats efficiently.
• Proven skills in analyzing data, identifying pitfalls, and recommending cost-effective solutions.
• Cost-oriented with effective problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• High accuracy and attention to both results and details.
