Data Center Mechanical Engineer

About the Role

ENGIE Solutions Middle East is seeking a Data Center Mechanical Engineer for a full-time position in Dammam, Eastern Region. This role is central to ensuring the continuous availability and optimal performance of all mechanical systems within the data center facility. The engineer will be responsible for the operation, maintenance, reliability, and optimization of critical cooling infrastructure and other essential mechanical equipment supporting mission-critical operations.

Role Summary

The Data Center Mechanical Engineer plays a key role in maintaining uptime, supporting capacity planning, executing preventive maintenance, and ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards. This position focuses on the robust management of HVAC systems, chilled water systems, pumps, and CRAC/CRAH units to support the data center's operational resilience.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot chillers, CRAH/CRAC units, FCUs, chilled water pumps, cooling towers, HVAC systems, heat exchangers, water treatment, and fuel systems.
• Execute preventive and corrective maintenance, and prepare Method of Procedures (MOPs) in accordance with Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) requirements.
• Perform authorized equipment shutdown, startup, isolation, restoration, and redundancy rotation.
• Monitor cooling system performance, equipment condition, temperatures, pressures, and flow rates.
• Supervise mechanical technicians and coordinate with OEMs/vendors for major maintenance activities and equipment failures.
• Respond to mechanical emergencies and support Root Cause Analysis (RCA), corrective actions, and preventive actions.
• Maintain cooling redundancy, reliability, and operational resilience of the data center.
• Execute approved changes and support testing, commissioning, and system optimization efforts.
• Manage critical spare parts, tools, testing equipment, and calibration records.
• Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) standards, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), MOPs, Emergency Operating Procedures (EOPs), and site-specific procedures.

Qualifications and Experience

• Candidates should possess 5-10 years of relevant experience in mechanical engineering, particularly within data center environments or similar critical infrastructure.
