About the Rigor Role at GE Vernova

GE Vernova is seeking a Rigor to join its team in Dammam, Eastern region. This full-time position involves assisting with complex rig moves, preparing and executing lift plans, and providing on-site supervision to ensure safe and efficient heavy-lift operations. The role requires 2-5 years of relevant experience.

Role Overview

The Rigor is responsible for overseeing crane operations and rigging activities, ensuring all procedures comply with safety standards and company guidelines. This includes leading the crane operator team, performing detailed lift planning, and conducting thorough equipment inspections. The individual will play a key role in maintaining a strong safety culture on the shop floor.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and supervise the crane operator team during all lifting activities, ensuring clear communication and adherence to safe load control practices.
Execute designed lifting plans to protect both rigging gear and loads, utilizing correct hand signaling and maintaining constant communication.
Identify load weights and accurately calculate required sling sizes, sling angle stresses, and center of gravity (COG).
Utilize bridge and crane load charts, along with unit conversion charts (Metric/Imperial), for all lift arrangements.
Conduct detailed pre-lift inspections of all rigging equipment to ensure zero defects and compliance with OEM guidelines.
Inspect, assemble, and dismantle rigging setups as required.
Ensure all operations strictly follow GE Vernova standards, report hazards immediately, and maintain accurate documentation of all activities.
Act as a team player, providing leadership on the shop floor to maintain a culture of safety.

Required Experience and Qualifications

2-5 years of experience in rigging, heavy-lift operations, or a related field.
Demonstrated ability to lead and supervise a crane operator team effectively.
Proficiency in preparing and executing complex lift plans.
Strong understanding of load weights, sling calculations, and center of gravity.
Familiarity with bridge and crane load charts, and unit conversion charts (Metric/Imperial).
Knowledge of OEM guidelines for rigging equipment and pre-lift inspection procedures.
Commitment to safety standards and accurate documentation.

Work Environment

This is a full-time position based in Dammam, Saudi Arabia. The role involves on-site supervision and active participation in heavy-lift operations, requiring a strong focus on safety and teamwork within an industrial setting.
