Senior Technician Mechanical

About the Role

Al Tuwairqi Group is seeking a Senior Technician, Mechanical to join their team in Dammam. This full-time role involves executing job instructions from a Foreman/Supervisor, applying specialized mechanical skills, and ensuring adherence to safety and housekeeping standards within the department and company. The Senior Technician will also support shift and general shift maintenance activities as a collaborative team member.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute job instructions provided by the Foreman/Supervisor.
• Apply acquired mechanical skills to perform assigned tasks.
• Prioritize personal safety and the safety of others in all work activities.
• Maintain established housekeeping and safety standards set by the department and company.
• Assist the shift and general shift teams in all maintenance activities.

Professional Competencies

• Demonstrated hands-on experience with piping work according to technical drawings.
• Experience in the fabrication of EAF top shell water-cooled panels, water-cooled ducts, and other piping components.
• Knowledge of water-cooling systems used in EAF (Electric Arc Furnace), LF (Ladle Furnace), and GCP (Gas Cleaning Plant) systems.
• Ability to repair leakage or worn-out panels through welding or tube replacement.
• Proficiency in copper welding techniques.

Health, Safety & Environment (HS&E)

• Understand and comply with organizational HS&E policies.
• Adhere to safety instructions specific to job tasks.
• Report damaged Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), unsafe machines, or equipment to relevant personnel.
• Ensure provided PPEs are kept in good, workable condition.
• Refrain from horseplay and misuse of safety devices, equipment, and welfare facilities.
• Report any accidents, near misses, or hazardous conditions to the responsible staff.
• Attend all planned safety trainings.
• Exercise the right to refuse any unsafe work.

Qualifications and Experience

• For expatriate candidates: 10 years of schooling plus a 2-year Industrial Technical Institute Course in mechanical disciplines (fabricator/craftsman/technician).
• Ability to communicate effectively in English.
• A minimum of 10 to 12 years of industrial experience, with at least 5 years specifically within a steel melt shop environment.
