Senior Technician Mechanical

About the Role

Al Tuwairqi Group is seeking a Senior Technician, Mechanical to join their team in Dammam. This full-time role involves executing tasks based on instructions from a Foreman or Supervisor, applying acquired mechanical skills, and maintaining high standards of safety and housekeeping. The Senior Technician will contribute to all maintenance activities as a key team member.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform work according to job instructions provided by a Foreman or Supervisor.
• Apply acquired mechanical skills effectively in all assigned tasks.
• Prioritize personal safety and the safety of others in all work activities.
• Maintain housekeeping and safety standards as established by the department and company.
• Assist the shift and general shift teams in all maintenance activities.

Professional Competencies

• Demonstrated hands-on experience in Arc, TIG, MIG, and gas welding (brass and silver brazing) across all positions.
• Proven hands-on experience in all-position (overhead) welding of steel melt shop equipment, including Arc furnace water-cooled roofs, panels, and other equipment during breakdown and shutdown periods.
• Ability to produce welds that meet radiography quality standards.

Health, Safety & Environment (HS&E) Responsibilities

• Understand and adhere to organizational HS&E policies.
• Follow all safety instructions relevant to specific job tasks.
• Report damaged Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), unsafe machines, or equipment to the appropriate staff.
• Maintain provided PPE in good, workable condition.
• Avoid horseplay and misuse of safety devices, equipment, and welfare facilities.
• Report any accidents, near misses, or hazardous conditions to the responsible party.
• Attend all planned safety trainings.
• Exercise the right to refuse any unsafe work.
• Observe equipment in the maintenance area, report issues, and take corrective actions in communication with a superior.

Qualifications and Requirements

• For Expatriate Candidates: 10 years of schooling plus a 2-year Industrial Technical Institute Course in mechanical disciplines (Fabricator/Craftsman/Fitter/Technician).
• Ability to communicate effectively in English.
• Work Experience: 8 to 10 years of industrial experience, with at least 5 years specifically in a steel melt shop environment.
