About the Technician, Heat Treatment Role at GE Vernova

GE Vernova is seeking a Technician, Heat Treatment to join their team in Dammam, Eastern, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position is critical for supporting heat treatment operations on gas turbine components. The role requires a commitment to executing process steps safely and accurately, while actively contributing to operational excellence and continuous improvement initiatives.

Role Purpose and Operational Focus

The Technician plays an important role in driving overall Lean implementation within the facility. This involves demonstrating strong Lean behaviors, actively supporting problem-solving efforts, and maintaining 5S standards. The position contributes directly to initiatives that enhance safety, quality, delivery, and productivity across the production line by identifying improvement opportunities, supporting standard work, and reducing waste.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform heat treatment in accordance with approved work instructions, process specifications, and engineering requirements.
• Read and interpret work instructions and quality forms to ensure accurate heat treatment process execution.
• Record and maintain accurate process and measurement data as required.
• Use heat treatment equipment, furnaces, fixtures, thermocouples, and hand tools safely and effectively.
• Inspect parts before and after heat treatment processes to ensure conformance to quality requirements.
• Adhere to Standard Work and Standard Work Combination Sheets to ensure consistency, quality, safety, and efficient line flow.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in accordance with 5S standards.
• Actively participate in problem-solving, root cause analysis, and corrective action activities to address process or quality issues.
• Identify and communicate opportunities for continuous improvement in safety, quality, cycle time, flow, and waste reduction.
• Support improvements in standard work, line organization, visual management, and process discipline to strengthen overall Lean implementation.
• Contribute to team efforts that improve line performance, operational efficiency, and overall shop productivity.
• Work within takt time, cycle time, and standard process flow expectations to support production goals.
• Use shop floor systems and interfaces such as ELM and SmartShop as required.
• Comply with company quality policies, safety requirements, applicable procedures, and standard work.

Qualifications and Experience

• Diploma, technical college degree, or equivalent hands-on experience.
• Knowledge or experience in a technician, manufacturing, heat treatment, or industrial role.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience with diffusion heat treatment processes.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience with solution and aging heat treatment processes.
• Experience participating in problem-solving or process improvement activities.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience working with gas turbine components or other precision aerospace/industrial parts.

Candidates for this role must demonstrate a strong understanding and application of Lean principles in daily work activities. This includes proficiency in maintaining 5S standards and actively engaging in problem-solving, root cause analysis, and corrective action.
