The Role: Assistant Director of Sales - Government

Based at the Mandarin Oriental Al Faisaliah Riyadh within the Commercial Department, the Assistant Director of Sales - Government (LOCAL) is responsible for developing and executing the annual sales plan and associated activities. This full-time role focuses on achieving sales targets and company goals for the government segment, requiring 5-10 years of relevant experience. The position involves leading and managing daily sales functions, with an emphasis on building long-term, value-based customer relationships to meet property sales targets. This role reports directly to the Director of Commerce.

Key Responsibilities

• Understand, disseminate, and communicate all corporate and hotel policies and standard operating procedures to colleagues.
• Collaborate with the Director of Commercial Strategy/Director of Commerce to ensure alignment and effective implementation of the government segment sales strategy.
• Ensure all sales calls and leads are responded to promptly and in accordance with company standards.
• Support customer loyalty and uphold the property’s brand standards by delivering service excellence.
• Work proactively with all Regional Sales Offices to maximize opportunities.
• Monitor market trends and effectively utilize all available Business Intelligence reports.

Performance Expectations

• Achieve financial targets and monitor the sales objectives of the team, providing supervision and guidance to ensure targets are met across all revenue streams.
• Ensure the sales team understands and achieves all Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) related to the department.
• Represent the property by attending trade shows and fairs, ensuring comprehensive coverage in all key feeder markets.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in a relevant sales role, preferably within the hospitality sector and with a focus on government accounts.
• Demonstrated ability to build and execute sales plans, achieve financial targets, and manage a sales team.
• Strong understanding of sales strategies, market trends, and customer relationship management.

Work Environment

This full-time position is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, at the Mandarin Oriental Al Faisaliah Riyadh. The role operates within the Commercial Department, working collaboratively with various internal and external stakeholders to drive sales performance for the government segment.
