About the Demi Chef de Partie Role

Marriott International, Inc. is seeking a Demi Chef de Partie (Saudi) for a full-time position in Riyadh. This role is central to the kitchen operations, focusing on the preparation and cooking of food items to established standards and recipes, ensuring high quality and presentation. The Demi Chef de Partie contributes to a positive and professional work environment while adhering to company policies and guest service needs.

Core Responsibilities

• Assist management with various tasks including hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating, counseling, disciplining, motivating, and coaching employees, serving as a role model.
• Adhere to all company, safety, and security policies and procedures; report maintenance needs, accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to management; complete required safety training and certifications.
• Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional; maintain confidentiality of proprietary information; protect company assets.
• Anticipate and address guests’ service needs with clear and professional communication.
• Develop and maintain positive working relationships with colleagues, support the team in achieving common goals, and respond appropriately to employee concerns.
• Ensure strict adherence to quality expectations and standards across all tasks.

Culinary Duties and Kitchen Operations

• Prepare and cook food according to recipes, quality standards, presentation standards, and the food preparation checklist.
• Prepare special meals or substitute items as required.
• Regulate the temperature of ovens, broilers, grills, and roasters.
• Pull food from freezer storage to thaw in the refrigerator.
• Ensure proper portioning, arrangement, and garnishing of food.
• Maintain accurate food logs and monitor the quality and quantity of prepared food.
• Communicate assistance needed during busy periods and inform the Chef of excess food items for daily specials.
• Inform Food & Beverage service staff of menu specials and out-of-stock items.
• Prepare cold food items as needed.

Work Environment and Physical Demands

This role requires the ability to stand, sit, or walk for extended periods. Physical tasks include reaching overhead and below the knees, bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping. The Demi Chef de Partie must be able to move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing up to 25 pounds without assistance. All duties must be performed while maintaining a professional demeanor and appearance.

Required Qualifications

• Education: A Technical, Trade, or Vocational School Degree is preferred.
• Related Work Experience: A minimum of 3 years of related work experience is required, with a preference for candidates possessing at least 3 years.
• Supervisory Experience: No supervisory experience is required for this position.
• License or Certification: No specific license or certification is required.
