About the Role

Nestlé is seeking an Electrical & Automation Technician for a full-time position in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This role is responsible for providing daily electrical support to the factory, including preventative maintenance and assistance with capital and extraordinary maintenance projects. The position requires 2-5 years of relevant experience, strong communication skills, and the ability to work effectively within a team across various departments. Individuals should be self-motivated, possess strong time management skills, and be capable of completing in-plant electrical projects and repairs with minimal supervision. This role also involves utilizing equipment logs, reports, and data from computerized maintenance systems to track equipment reliability and manage time efficiently. The technician will work directly with an experienced E&A Technician as a mentor during onboarding.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform daily electrical start-up checklists.
• Work in small teams to remove and install equipment.
• Maintain close working relationships with equipment operators and line team leaders.
• Adhere to all plant rules and policies, including safety and GMP regulations, and practice good housekeeping.
• Collaborate with other maintenance technicians to enhance their electrical skills.
• Optimize electrical and process control maintenance and operation costs.
• Optimize electrical and process control hardware and software to maintain high levels of plant efficiency, safety, and quality.
• Liaise with other departments, disciplines, and facilities to provide necessary support and expertise for capital investment projects and market/global initiatives.
• Perform troubleshooting for problems and ensure proper maintenance of PLC, HMI, and MES applications.
• Maintain industrial applications and hardware within the automation layer.
• Strictly adhere to PLC and HMI change management policies and procedures.
• Maintain the reliability and performance of the FAS IT infrastructure and peer-to-peer networks.
• Coordinate closely with functions such as quality, safety, operations, and production, with emphasis on QMS, HAACP, and calibration.
• Demonstrate a desire to continuously learn and develop skills.

Technical Expertise

The role requires electrical skills or the ability to learn the following technologies:

• PLCs: Pico, Micro, CompactLogix, SLC500, ControlLogix, Guardlogix, and PLC-5.
• Servos: Ultra, Kinetix 5500 and 5700, with capability to handle other types.
• Networks: Ethernet/IP, Sercos, DH-485, DH+, and Remote I/O.
• Safety Devices: Guard I/O and Safety relays.
• Drives: Schneider, ABB, and SIEMENS.
• Software: RSLinx, Drive Executive, RSLogix5, RSLogix500, RSLogix5000, PanelBuilder32, FactoryTalk View, Asset Centre, BOOTP-DHCP Server, RSNetworx, and all SIEMENS type software.
• Computer Skills: Familiarity with Electrical Software, Outlook, Excel, Word, SAP, Auto CAD, and SharePoint.
• Electrical Testing Devices: Ability to connect, set up, and perform testing to troubleshoot plant issues using multimeters (AC/DC voltage and amperage, milliamp, millivolt, OHM's, frequency, min/max readings) and calibration equipment (calibration tester, dry blocks).

Qualifications and Experience

• Associate Degree in an Industrial Electrical technical field, such as Automation Systems Technology or Electrical Industrial.
• 2-5 years of experience in a relevant electrical or automation role.
• Understanding of troubleshooting methodologies.
• Strong written and oral communication skills, with the ability to interpret and comprehend technical literature and print documentation.
• Working knowledge of switchboards, Motor Control Centers (MCCs), panel boards, and control cabinets.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
• Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

Essential Skills

• Mathematical Skills: Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. This includes computing rate, ratio, and percent, and drawing and interpreting bar graphs.
• Reasoning Ability: Capability to solve practical problems and manage a variety of concrete variables in situations where standardization may be limited. This also involves interpreting various instructions provided in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
