About the Engineering Supervisor Role

IHG Hotels & Resorts is seeking an Engineering Supervisor to join the Engineering team at Holiday Inn Riyadh Rose Yard in Riyadh, Riyadh. This full-time role involves supervising the daily maintenance operations of the hotel, ensuring that all building systems, equipment, and facilities are maintained to high standards. The position requires 2-5 years of experience and supports the delivery of a safe, efficient, and comfortable environment for guests and colleagues in line with IHG brand standards.

Role Overview

The Engineering Supervisor will oversee engineering technicians, coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance activities, and ensure the efficient operation of hotel infrastructure. This role is critical in maintaining the hotel's operational integrity and guest satisfaction through diligent maintenance practices and adherence to established standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise the daily activities of the engineering team, ensuring maintenance work is completed safely, efficiently, and on schedule.
• Coordinate preventive and corrective maintenance for HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, kitchen, and building systems.
• Assign daily work orders, monitor progress, and ensure timely completion of maintenance requests.
• Conduct routine inspections of guest rooms, public areas, back-of-house facilities, and plant rooms to identify maintenance requirements.
• Troubleshoot technical issues and provide guidance to technicians during repairs and maintenance activities.
• Monitor the condition of hotel equipment and recommend repairs, replacements, or improvements when necessary.
• Ensure engineering tools, equipment, and spare parts are properly maintained and available for operational needs.
• Coordinate with Front Office, Housekeeping, Food & Beverage, Security, and other departments to minimize disruptions during maintenance activities.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, inspection reports, and preventive maintenance schedules.
• Monitor contractor work when assigned, ensuring compliance with hotel standards and safety requirements.
• Promote energy conservation initiatives and support sustainability programs throughout the hotel.
• Ensure compliance with IHG brand standards, hotel policies, local regulations, and occupational health and safety requirements.
• Support the Chief Engineer and Duty Engineer with departmental projects, audits, and operational improvements.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Chief Engineer or Assistant Chief Engineer.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Building Services, or a related technical field.
• Minimum 3–5 years of engineering maintenance experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory role, preferably within a hotel environment.
• Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and building systems.
• Excellent troubleshooting, technical, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong leadership, communication, and team supervision abilities.
• Good organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple maintenance activities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS/BMS) is an advantage.
• Good command of English; Arabic is an advantage.

Work Environment

This full-time position is based at the Holiday Inn Riyadh Rose Yard in Riyadh, Riyadh, within the IHG Hotels & Resorts network. The role involves working as part of the Engineering team to maintain hotel facilities and systems.
