About the Role

A leading financial services organisation in the GCC is seeking a Head of IT Business Applications. This full-time senior leadership position is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, and requires a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the strategy, delivery, and ongoing evolution of the organisation's enterprise banking applications landscape.

Role Purpose and Context

This role is for a technology professional with deep banking experience and a strong background in applications, architecture, integration, and technology transformation. The Head of IT Business Applications will play a key role in aligning business priorities with the technology strategy, while also ensuring the stability, scalability, and performance of critical banking platforms within the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the technology roadmap across enterprise banking applications and integrations.
• Partner with business stakeholders to translate strategic objectives into practical technology solutions.
• Drive application modernisation, automation, digitalisation, and process improvement initiatives.
• Oversee application architecture, integration frameworks, and enterprise technology standards.
• Manage the delivery of business-critical projects across multiple banking domains.
• Ensure operational excellence through effective application support, service management, and governance.
• Lead vendor relationships, commercial discussions, and third-party delivery partners.
• Develop business cases, budgets, and investment proposals for technology initiatives.
• Build and develop a multidisciplinary team spanning applications, architecture, integration, and delivery functions.
• Promote best practices across IT service management, risk, compliance, and operational resilience.

Qualifications and Experience

• Extensive experience, minimum of 10 years, within banking technology environments.
• Proven leadership experience managing enterprise applications and technology teams.
• Strong background in application architecture, systems integration, and large-scale technology delivery.
• Experience working with core banking and associated banking technology platforms.
• Track record of developing technology roadmaps aligned to business objectives.
• Experience managing vendors, contracts, and technology procurement processes.
• Strong understanding of service management frameworks and operational support models.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills, with the ability to engage at executive level.
