POST DOCTORAL FELLOW

About the Role

King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre in Riyadh is seeking a Post-Doctoral Fellow to conduct research on a semi-independent basis. This full-time position involves designing, performing, and interpreting experimental results, as well as developing new ideas to advance current research. The role requires 0-1 years of experience and focuses on contributing to scientific manuscripts and attending seminars under the guidance of a senior scientist.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct research and laboratory experiments within a specified field, including analysis and interpretation of results.
• Contribute efficiently and significantly to the planning of research projects.
• Develop new ideas and expertise that promote ongoing research initiatives.
• Assist in manuscript writing for publication in scientific journals and/or presentations.
• Provide support in grant writing under the direction of the Hospital, as needed.
• Engage in appropriate training and professional development opportunities to enhance professional skills and research independence.
• Provide training and supervision to research staff.
• Assist in overseeing laboratory operations, including maintaining supplies, equipment, and ordering necessary materials.
• Adhere to all laboratory safety rules and regulations.
• Comply with all Hospital-related Policies and Procedures.
• Participate in self and others' education, training, and development.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• A letter from the immediate Academic Supervisor detailing the candidate’s academic ability to learn, performance, work ethic, punctuality, attitude towards work, responsibility, ability to work under pressure, and oral and written communication skills.
• For in-house scholarship recipients, a satisfactory Annual Progress Report for the last two (2) years during the scholarship, as requested by the Innovation & Research – Education & Training/KFSHRC.
• A strong Research Statement from the applicant describing research interests, technical skills, and career goals.
• Proven record of presenting original data generated from doctoral degree research at least once at a national or international meeting.

The Post-Doctoral Fellow will operate within the King Faisal Specialist Hospital & Research Centre in Riyadh, contributing to a collaborative research environment. The role is full-time, requiring active participation in laboratory activities and research projects.
