Principal / Associate Landscape Architect

About the Role

WSP in the Middle East is seeking a Principal / Associate Landscape Architect to join its Landscape Design Studio in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time role involves providing design and team leadership, contributing to high-quality, creative, and sustainable landscape solutions for major projects across the region. The successful candidate will bring over 10 years of experience, combining creative design leadership with technical expertise and client engagement.

Role Context and Contribution

This position focuses on shaping landscape architecture and public realm projects from concept through to implementation. The Principal / Associate Landscape Architect will play a key role in developing compelling landscape concepts and masterplans that address environmental, cultural, and client requirements. The role also involves supporting the growth and success of WSP's Landscape Design Studio across the Middle East.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design vision and delivery of large-scale landscape architecture and public realm projects.
• Provide technical and design leadership within multidisciplinary project teams.
• Develop landscape concepts, masterplans, and public realm strategies.
• Champion design excellence, innovation, and sustainability throughout all project stages.
• Guide and mentor Landscape Architects, Urban Designers, and Junior Designers.
• Manage client relationships and serve as an advisor on landscape architecture and public realm matters.
• Lead design workshops, presentations, and stakeholder engagements.
• Drive project delivery, ensuring quality, programme, and commercial objectives are met.
• Collaborate with architects, planners, engineers, environmental specialists, and other disciplines across WSP's global network.
• Contribute to business development activities, bids, competitions, and client pursuits.

Qualifications and Experience

• A minimum of 10 years of experience in landscape architecture.
• Demonstrated strong Middle East experience in landscape design and project delivery.
• Proven ability to combine creative design leadership with technical expertise.
• Experience in client engagement and multidisciplinary project delivery.

Work Environment

This role is based in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, within WSP's Landscape Design Studio. The position is full-time and involves working within a collaborative environment that includes various disciplines across WSP's global network.
