About the Role

AtkinsRéalis is seeking a Resident Engineer (O&M) to join our team in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This full-time position is responsible for overseeing the operations and maintenance activities of metro rail systems, ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable functioning of all assets. The role involves managing contractors, supervising maintenance, ensuring compliance with standards, and coordinating with various stakeholders.

Operations and Maintenance Oversight

• Oversee day-to-day metro operations to ensure uninterrupted service and adherence to operational schedules and service standards.
• Monitor system performance across various components, including trains, track, signaling, telecom, and power supply.
• Supervise preventive and corrective maintenance activities across civil, E&M, and systems infrastructure.
• Ensure timely inspection, repair, and maintenance of metro infrastructure and rolling stock.
• Review maintenance plans, schedules, and reports provided by contractors and vendors.
• Ensure proper documentation and effective asset lifecycle management.

Contractor and Compliance Management

• Supervise O&M contractors and service providers, reviewing their performance against Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
• Ensure strict compliance with contractual obligations, safety standards, and quality requirements.
• Conduct periodic meetings and audits to assess contractor performance and adherence to standards.
• Implement safety protocols and emergency response procedures, ensuring full compliance with railway/metro safety standards and statutory regulations.
• Conduct safety audits, inspections, and incident investigations, fostering a strong safety culture within all teams.
• Verify that all maintenance activities meet specified quality and technical standards, including adherence to ISO/Quality Management Systems where applicable.

Stakeholder Coordination and Reporting

• Liaise effectively with clients, government authorities, contractors, and internal teams to ensure smooth project execution.
• Support audits and fulfill reporting requirements for regulatory bodies.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to facilitate issue resolution and operational improvements.
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, incidents, inspections, and overall system performance.
• Prepare comprehensive daily, weekly, and monthly O&M reports, tracking KPIs and recommending improvements for optimized performance.

Required Experience

Candidates for the Resident Engineer (O&M) position should possess 5 to 10 years of relevant experience in the operations and maintenance of metro rail systems or similar large-scale transportation infrastructure projects.
